Kayleigh Update. She is 5 months old! :)

Wow my baby girls is 5 months old today.  She and I have survived 5 months of each other! I have to admit there were times that I wasn't quite sure I'd make it.  But here is proof I did and so did she.  She is on 5 mils of liquid prilosec for her really bad acid reflux and on an amino acid based formula called Elecare as her body cannot break down proteins.  Mix that in with tummy drops and an expensive gripe water called Colic Calm and we have a pretty normal baby on our hands now.  She still has incredible amounts of gas, but she has come SUCH a long way.  I can pretty much say that she mostly just cried until she was 3 months old.  I can't recall her doing much other than that. :) However, around 4 months and after figuring out all the things her little body needed she finally began to smile and smile a lot.  She smiles with her whole face and she has been SOOO much happier these days.  She also laughs out loud.  She reaches for anything and everything.  She hates to be in the car-seat and in the car with a crying passion.  She is very ticklish and loves kisses!  In fact tonight it even looked like she was giving Makenna kisses back.  It was super sweet.   We all love it and all of us have officially been able to bond with her now!  She LOVES her daddy and Noah.  But especially Daddy she tries to get his attention and always gives him the biggest smile when he looks at  her and talks to her. It's soo cute! Sometimes she prefers daddy over mommy which is unheard of in this house! But Tommy loves it!  She also baby talks and coos quite a bit.  She does a  scream talk which is pretty cute.  She can almost sit up on her own and she has turned over from her back to her stomach a few times.  She is starting to like tummy time a little more and loves to put everything in her mouth.  She had her first bite of rice cereal and giggled the entire time.  It was super adorable.  However, it seems like solids gass her up a bit still so I am going to hold off on giving them to her until she is 6 months old.  But she is turning into a wonderful baby.  She is spoiled....loves to be held and given constant attention. ;) I remember the first time that she let me actually cuddle her without screeching and crying in pain.  She was almost 4 months old when we could actually snuggle.  I wasn't a tense ball of stress and she wasn't a crying baby.  It was so wonderful to finally have a snuggle bonding moment again after so long.  It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about. Who would have thought  it would be a blessing to be able to snuggle your baby?  Wow, it sure has been a roller coaster few months with this little one.  She still gets up to eat every 3 - 4 hours at night.  She gives me the occasional 5-6 but it is far and few in between.  Hopefully she will sleep better through the night soon!  But we all love her and she has come such a long way.  At around 4 1/2 months she was 12.5 pounds.  I will be making her another appointment when she is 6 months old.  It will be fun to get her height and weight stats then.  She sure has finally started to chunk out.  She is seriously the happiest and easiest baby right now.  We love our Kayleigh Jean!

The following are a few of my favorite pictures over the last 5 months:
Cute bow and socks from Aunt Bobbie!
This was taken the day she turned one month.  Her face was covered in baby acne. It was horrible!
5 weeks!

She is cute here, but I think it is pretty obvious that she was a sick baby not eating what she should. :-/ Good thing she has now put on some chubs!

She kicked mommy and daddy out of their bed. :)
This was the face that she made for almost 3 months straight.

Kayleigh had a very beautiful blessing day.  Tommy gave her a very special blessing.  I remember that he blessed her that she would be physically healthy throughout her life.  That really touched my heart as she had been so sick and crying since birth.  Family came over to celebrate her birth and blessing and it was a wonderful day!
Noah put a princess crown on her head. :)

She LOVED trying rice cereal.  It made her giggly :)
My big, special girl

The last few months...photo dump!

So being a mom of three children four years old and younger...with one very hard baby has been quite the challenge for me!  I have cried more in the last few months then I thought was possible.  Tears of joy and tears with feelings of being overwhelmed.  However as Kayleigh has turned 5 months old today she has become a nice, mostly normal baby and so I feel like a nice, mostly normal mom now. :)  So to play catch up on the last few months here is a big dump of pictures with some explanations.  I figure it is better then nothing! :)

This summer we put a pool next to our slide and had fun sliding into the water! :)

Makenna's first "selfie" :)

Shoes, shirt and big girl panties! Whoo hoo.  In November Makenna decided she wanted to wear panties and so now just Kayleigh is in diapers around here.  Pretty awesome!

Noah played t-ball this fall.  It was his first time playing and he had a lot of fun.  None of the kids knew what was going on, but hey he hits and catches better now so that is a plus! ;)

Cool Summer Kids ;)

The first rain of monsoon season! :)  Noah loved running through it...Makenna wasn't quite sure..

HALLOWEEN!
Of course Noah was Lightning McQueen.  Makenna was the pirate Izzy from a Disney cartoon called Jake and the Neverland Pirates!  There were definitely some Halloween highlights!  Noah was a pro and knew what was going on.  But this was the first time that Makenna was old enough to have a bit of a clue what was going on.  She was super hyper when she knew she was going to be trick or treating.  She was also being a bit ornery.  I had to get after her for something and her response in a very sassy voice was, "I just kidding."  Like geez mom I was just kidding.  Yeah and she is 2 years old. We are in trouble.
Then when they got their costumes on she kept saying over and over, "I so excited.  I so excited."  It was the sweetest thing.  She also kept repeating while trick or treating..."I like candy."  She said "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you very much"  She also would say, "I Izzy."  So she definitely had a blast.  Unfortunately a guy in a Scream mask scared the crap out of her and she cried and had to have daddy hold her for a bit.  But Halloween was definitely a fun night! :)
